A fun source of revenue the kids really get into, for school requiring uniforms, is a free dress down day.
Charge a$1 or $5 to each child who arrives dressed down. (You may want to pick the day(s) this is permitted.)
Use the Dress-Down Day to raise items for other events within your school, like having the children bring in specific items in return (something for yard sale, book sale, bake sale, etc.) You will get a lot more donations this way than by just asking parents to send the items in.
You can also use this in a workplace where employees are allowed to go casual, or follow a theme for the day.
School dances can be a big source of revenue for any school. For grammar
school, you may want to run two dances - one for grades 1 - 4 early in the
evening, followed by one for grade 5 - 7. Charge a reasonable entry fee and
sell food (like hamburgers and hotdogs, soft drinks and water.)
You can also sell glow sticks and LED products to raise more profits. Most children will buy one or two if the price is reasonable. Ask a reasonable number of parents to chaperone.

Gift wrapping is a very popular fundraising activity during the Holidays. Ask your local shopping center if you can set up outside their stores or in the mall atrium. Most shopping centers will donate an area for charity. Plan to bring your own tables. Buy gift wrap in bulk rolls to make it more profitable. Make a beautiful selection of ribbons. Set your prices according to the size of the items you are wrapping, or make it a gold coin donation. Have a training day for your volunteers in advance and practice how to make bows.

This is an ever-popular fundraiser with children and adults. Find an eye-catching glass jar, vase or see-through container. Fill it with something that can easily be counted (before it goes in… sand would NOT be a good idea!) A beautiful glass jar filled with jelly beans is ideal. Charge each donor an amount to guess how many jelly beans (or whatever) are in the jar. At the end of the day, the person who guessed the closest number without going over is the winner. They get the jar. You keep all the money!
This could be another great fundraiser to host in a shopping mall atrium or outside a busy supermarket on a Saturday. These types of businesses like to help non-profit organizations. Let them help you!
For almost all logo items, you set the prices, so your profit depends on you! Make sure to ask for set up charges for your initial order. Ask if they can be waived or reduced for non-profit organizations.

A money tree is a novel way to raise money at a fundraising event. It is simple and inexpensive to put together and offers an attractive prize. You need to buy (or have donated) two things: a small topiary tree in a nice pot and scratch cards (select the amount appropriate to the fundraiser).
Punch a hole in the card, and tie a ribbon through it. Now, hang the cards on the tree making sure they are evenly placed.
Vary the idea by tying rolled dollar bills, gift vouchers or lottery tickets. Make a seasonal tree at Christmas time.
Money trees
can be used as raffle prizes, auction items, or a prize for any contest which
people have to pay to enter. The options are endless!
